Warehouse Technician Part-Time –

The Part‑Time Warehouse Technician supports the efficient flow of materials used in FOCUS Broadband’s network construction, installation, and maintenance operations. The role is responsible for receiving, storing, issuing, and transporting inventory and equipment while ensuring accuracy in documentation and maintaining a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment. The technician works closely with internal teams, vendors, and delivery personnel to ensure that technicians receive the materials they need on time to support exceptional service delivery.
Requirements- Inspects and receives all deliveries, reports damaged items, and follows protocols for compromised packages.
- Verifies quantities and descriptions of materials received by checking merchandise against the packing list.
- Ensures all merchandise is stored in the properly assigned warehouse area.
- Manages the daily flow of supplies between departments by working with internal customers to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.
- Conducts accurate periodic inventories to monitor stock levels and participates in random monthly and planned year‑end physical inventory counts.
- Notifies management of the need to reorder products with low supplies.
- Ensures the warehouse is accessible and safe for employee traffic.
- Meets quality standards for work assigned, general housekeeping, and safe work practices.
- Participates in process improvement to maintain efficiency or boost productivity within the warehouse setting.
- Works effectively individually or in a team.
- Obtains forklift certification within 90 days if not already possessed.
- Performs all other duties assigned by the Warehouse Manager.
- Associate degree with related field experience or 2–3 years of experience within a warehouse setting preferred.
- Forklift and backhoe experience preferred.
- Maintains a good driving record and a valid driver’s license.
- Ability to stand and walk for most of the workday while handling materials, stocking, and receiving shipments.
- Frequent bending, stooping, crouching, climbing, reaching, and twisting to handle and move inventory.
- Regularly required to lift, carry, push, and pull 50 lbs independently and up to 75+ lbs with assistance or proper material‑handling equipment.
- Ability to operate powered and non‑powered warehouse equipment including pallet jacks, carts, dollies, and forklifts (certification required within 90 days).
- Manual dexterity and grip strength needed for repetitive inventory tasks, scanning, labeling, packing, and equipment operation.
- Adequate vision (including depth perception and color recognition) and hearing to identify hazards, verify labels and packing lists, and maintain safe operations near moving equipment.
- Ability to climb ladders, access elevated storage areas, and work in tight or restricted spaces where needed.
- Ability to drive company vehicles for local warehouse deliveries.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced, physically demanding environment, maintaining accuracy and focus throughout the shift.
- Work is performed primarily in a warehouse environment, including loading docks, tool rooms, and outdoor areas when delivering materials or receiving shipments.
- Exposure to fluctuating temperatures, including heat, cold, humidity, and ventilation changes inside warehouses.
- Regular exposure to dust, packaging debris, noise, vibration, and moving machinery (forklifts, pallet jacks, delivery trucks).
- Must wear and maintain appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), such as safety footwear, gloves, and high‑visibility apparel.
- Potential exposure to trip hazards, stacked materials, sharp edges, and chemicals used in equipment maintenance or packaging.
- Work may occasionally occur during evenings, weekends, or overtime to support operational needs, stocking deadlines, or inventory counts.
- Conditions can be high‑volume and time‑sensitive, requiring safe but efficient task performance.
