As a Rental Attendant at Cataloochee Ski Area, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring our guests have the best possible experience by helping them with their ski or snowboard equipment rentals. Whether they are seasoned riders or first-time skiers, your excellent customer service and attention to detail will set the tone for their day on the mountain.

• Greet guests warmly and provide information about ski and snowboard equipment rentals.
• Assist guests in selecting the right equipment based on their skill level, size, and needs.
• Ensure proper fitting of boots, skis, and snowboards for guest comfort and safety.
• Maintain a high level of cleanliness and organization in the rental shop.
• Explain rental agreements and policies to guests, ensuring they understand their responsibilities.
• Inspect returned equipment for damage, wear, or improper use, and process returns efficiently.
• Clean, tune, and prepare rental equipment to ensure it’s in excellent working condition.
• Restock, organize, and prepare rental inventory for the next guest.
• Communicate any equipment issues or maintenance needs to the appropriate department.
• Assist with end-of-day cleaning and closing procedures, ensuring the rental area is prepared for the next shift.

• Previous experience in a customer service role or rental shop is a plus.
• Basic knowledge of ski and snowboard equipment, or a willingness to learn.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate effectively and solve problems quickly.

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, nights, and holidays.
• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Comfortable working in a dynamic, sometimes fast-paced environment.
• Due to the sensitive nature of this position, a criminal background check will be conducted after the position is accepted, in compliance with the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
