JOB DESCRIPTIONThis dual role involves assessments (courtesy request) and quality assurance. Primary responsibility is to monitor performance using case reviews, process reviews, and data analysis. The position reviews records and conducts service audits for Child Welfare, analyzing cases, compiling individual and team data, developing and analyzing agency-wide reports, and implementing standardized work methods. The role ensures all staff administer the program uniformly, accurately, and timely through standardized forms and policy interpretation.
Additional duties include input in training development to reduce error rates, improve program integrity, and enhance services. The employee assists with incoming courtesy requests as needed. The employee provides advanced, professional-level casework for children at risk for neglect, abuse, or dependency, evaluating harm, counseling and planning with families, cooperating with law enforcement and district attorney as required, initiating court action, providing testimony when necessary, arranging appropriate services and community resources.
The employee serves on emergency after‑hours on‑call work on a rotating basis to handle life‑endangering situations and perform crisis intervention at inconvenient times.
Thorough knowledge of social work principles, techniques, and practices; policies and procedures; individual and group behavior; family dynamics; medical/behavioral/psychosocial problems and treatment theory; governmental/private organizations. Ability to interact and motivate a resistant involuntary client population and the public, prepare documentation such as investigative reports, case records, treatment plans; testify in court; employ advanced interview techniques; assess risks and safety of client environments;
employ negotiation skills; analyze child development and safety issues; analyze tense family situations; communicate effectively and establish supportive relationships. Manual work up to 50 pounds occasionally or 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
Master’s degree from an accredited school of social work and one year of social work experience; or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school of social work and two years of social work or counseling experience; or Master’s degree in a counseling field and two years of social work or counseling experience; or a four‑year degree in a human service field or related curriculum and three years of social work or counseling experience;
or graduation from a four‑year college or university and four years of experience in rehabilitation counseling or pastoral counseling or a related human service field; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. One year of work experience can be credited for completing the social work collaborative.
Completion of Child Welfare Collaborative;
Child Welfare experience; working knowledge of Child Welfare policy/procedures; experience in the performance of quality assurance functions.
