Sr. Commercial HVAC Service Technician

Job Summary

The Sr HVAC Service Technician is responsible for leading advanced diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. This role requires expert-level technical proficiency, leadership in field operations, mentorship of junior technicians, and a strong commitment to safety, customer satisfaction, and quality service delivery.

• Lead and manage service schedules in coordination with the department manager to ensure timely and efficient completion of complex service calls
• Oversee project material and equipment planning, ensuring timely delivery and optimal job productivity
• Perform advanced system analysis to identify root causes of issues and recommend appropriate repair, replacement, or corrective actions
• Verify and inspect completed work to ensure accuracy and prevent callbacks
• Provide expert on-site technical support and guidance to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues
• Review and complete service tickets with detailed, legible, and comprehensive documentation
• Serve as a primary liaison between the customer and company, ensuring clear communication and high-quality service
• Respond promptly to service calls, including emergency after-hours assignments as needed
• Mentor, hold training sessions for train junior technicians, sharing technical knowledge and best practices
• Attend advanced training seminars and certification programs to maintain and expand technical expertise
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures, with a strong emphasis on safety compliance

• Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; minimum 8 years of HVAC service experience required
• Proven ability to read and interpret complex technical documents and schematics
• Strong written communication skills for detailed reporting and correspondence
• Effective verbal communication skills for customer interaction and team leadership
• Advanced problem-solving skills with the ability to address complex technical challenges
• Ability to interpret and execute instructions from written, oral, diagram, or schedule formats
• Proficiency in mathematical concepts including geometry, trigonometry, and statistical inference
• Ability to apply advanced mathematical reasoning to practical HVAC scenarios

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and talk or hear. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places, outside weather conditions and vibration.
