Machine Maintenance Technician
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, installations, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, maintenance, and calibration of electrical, electronic, electro‑mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, as well as associated equipment used in the manufacturing of tungsten carbide and ceramic tools. The role follows general work instructions, standardized practices, safety procedures, job safety analysis (JSA), and plant safety programs.
Key Job ResponsibilitiesRepair equipment in accordance with standard engineering practices and OEM technical manuals. Read and comprehend schematics; use multimeters, ammeters, 3‑phase and single‑phase motor control, PLC and ladder logic programming (AB SLC‑500, Micro Logix, Control Logix, RS Logix); soldering; power tool usage; welding (arc/TIG); pipe fitting; power transmission applications; preventive maintenance; troubleshooting and diagnosis; maintenance of pneumatic and hydraulic systems; rebuild machine accessories, pumps, motors, dressing units, and fixtures;
complete scheduled electrical/electronic overhaul (rewiring, motor replacement, PCB work, relays, timers, etc.) and calibration; adjust, align, and fit equipment using manuals or verbal instructions; perform preventive maintenance per plant program; provide plumbing and HVAC maintenance as required; operate and repair machine tools; fabricate sheet metal parts, brackets, and accessories; review work orders and order parts electronically; calibrate equipment per OEM guidelines;
install new equipment per electrical and plumbing guidelines; act as informal resource for colleagues; interact across departments; attend technical training.
