TYPICAL DUTIES:
* Receives instructions covering the scheduled and emergency repairs, installation, and inspection work to be done.
* Inspects refinery equipment for defects, such as, misalignment, wear, insufficient lubrication, etc.
* Determines the best way of making repairs to minimize interruption of production.
* Advises when immediate shut-down of equipment is necessary to minimize damage or when temporarily continued operation will have no harmful effect.
* Dismantle, cleans, repairs, replaces, installs, maintains, assembles, and lubricates mechanical equipment.
* Adjusts equipment for proper operating characteristics.
* Makes either temporary or permanent repairs.
* Assembles and aligns gears, bearings, and shafts involving the application of press, sliding, and running fits.
* Operates simple machine tools, such as, drill press, pipe-threading machine, power saw, etc.
* Babbitts and scrapes bearings as required.
* Erects scaffolds and performs simple rigging as necessary.
* Changes, sets up and adjusts equipment as required by current operating conditions.
* Works with repair crews as directed on emergency breakdowns.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS &
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of three (3) years or more in refinery maintenance/turnaround/or construction experience. A general knowledge of basic hand tools. Must be able to pass the Millwright Skills Test at or above 70% or complete the NCCER certification for your craft. Completed the Matrix Service C-Stop Plus Safety training, Process Safety Management training and Client / Site specific training. To obtain and maintain an active status within the DISA drug testing program.
