Crane Operator – Caton Construction Group

Caton Construction Group, a family‑owned company, is expanding and is seeking an experienced Crane Operator for our Southport/Brunswick County bridge project in North Carolina. The Crane Operator will be responsible for operating a mobile crane to lift, move, position, and reposition loads, and will also perform other duties as assigned.

• Operate a lattice boom crawler; NCCCO certification required.
• Operate various types of cranes:
  All‑Terrain, Rough‑Terrain, Crawlers, Industrial, Hydraulic, and associated truck or boom trucks.
• Drive the crane to the work site, set up equipment per manufacturer and company rules including cribbing/matting, and ensure proper safety procedures.
• Direct activities of oilers, truck drivers, or helpers during setup and knockdown.
• Apply signals from helpers to maneuver the crane, bolt or pin boom sections together to modify boom lengths.
• Perform routine maintenance and carry tools for repairs.
• Wear PPE and properly barricade the counterweight tail‑swing radius.
• Maintain total safety responsibility for setup, knockdown, and operation of the crane.
• Fill out job tickets for customers, accepting responsibility for job‑site billing.
• Drive truck to worksites and unload equipment.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Four years experience as a crane operator.

Full‑time. Monday‑Friday:
Monday‑Thursday, 7:00 a.m.–5:30 p.m.;
Friday, 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m.
