You will conduct routine patrols of assigned areas, maintain a visible presence that helps to deter security-related incidents, and respond to calls with calm, clear communication. ** What You'll Do:*
* + Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and contractors at a government corrections location by following post orders, site-specific policies, and established security-related procedures and/or emergency response protocols.

+ Conduct armed foot and/or vehicle patrols of buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter routes, including regular and random checks to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or contraband introduction.

+ Monitor access control points, verify identification and authorization, control entry and exit, and assist with visitor processing in accordance with facility rules and procedures.

+ Respond to alarms, incidents, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinate communications with facility personnel and emergency services as directed, and assist with scene control until relieved.

+ Complete detailed written reports and logs, document observations and incidents, and report maintenance issues, hazards, and policy violations through the appropriate chain of command.

* + Possess an Armed Guard Card and/or license.

+ Have 6 months or more of armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military experience.

+ Be at least 21 years of age.

+ A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.

+ Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.

+ Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

+ As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

+ Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.

+ As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.

+ Participate in industry-specific security training programs.

+ Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.

+ A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
