Property Security Officer (Temporary) 2025‑26
This role provides security support and enforces policies on UNCP properties. The position is part‑time (up to 30 hours per week) for a temporary period during the 2025 dưới 2026 academic year.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct hourly foot patrols of university buildings and grounds to detect and report safety or facility issues.
- Secure buildings and rooms during shifts, including after business hours and special events.
- Respond to alarms, investigate activation areas, and determine appropriate authority response.
- Retrieve, document Anderson statistics and, when needed, forward condition reports to supervisors.
- Act as liaison between University Police, faculty, staff, and students, maintaining a professional and knowledgeable presence.
- Enforce department regulations and policies: document leave requests, time sheets, and shift‑service calls.
- Assist motorists and provide necessary communications for services beyond the officer’s scope.
- Attend special events to provide general security, access control, metal‑detector operation, parking and traffic control, and other assigned duties.
- Perform any additional duties assigned by the shift supervisor that support university goals.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid North Carolina driver’s license.
- Demonstrated ability to handle emergency situations.
- Prior experience in security or protection work preferred.
Hourly rate: $15.00–20.00 depending on qualifications. Positions: 2 vacancies mount FTE: .75.
Special InstructionsThis position requires a successful employment background check, including criminal, employment, reference, license (if applicable), and credit history checks. Candidates must provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States and submit a DD‑214 within ten days of hire if claiming Veterans Preference. Direct deposit is the sole payment method.
