Job DescriptionThe Property Security Officer operates within the UNCP University Department of Police and Public Safety. This position is responsible for providing security support and helping enforce policy and procedures to our campus community. The officer will conduct hourly patrols of buildings and grounds, secure rooms and buildings, and recognize situations that are not part of the normal operation of the university.
Responsibilities include:
- Facility Security:
Conducting hourly patrols and securing rooms and buildings. - Facility
Conditions:
Reporting any facility problems such as water leaks, electrical problems, or fire hazards. - Alarms:
Responding to and investigating alarms. - Liaison:
Serving as a representative of the University Police Department and interacting with faculty, staff, and students in a professional manner. - Policy Compliance:
Complying with all departmental regulations and policies. - Special Events:
Working special events on UNCP properties, including general security, patrolling, access control, and parking and traffic control. - Motorists Assistance:
Providing assistance to motorists as needed.
Minimum requirements include a High School diploma or equivalency and demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work. Previous experience in security or protection work is preferred. A valid N.C. driver’s license is required.
The ideal candidate will be able to work a flexible schedule, including rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays.
