Job Duties
  • Manage and analyze data generated by the field and laboratory work. Conduct specialized field and lab procedures (e.g. geophysical surveys for SAV and shoreline changes) and use GPS equipment and other research tools. Calculations by hand and computer;
    Prepare graphs and tables and provide written summaries of observations and data. (34%)
  • Maintain and independently operate instrumentation, equipment and software. Technician has knowledge and experience with GPS equipment, ArcGIS software and Python programming to conduct a variety of analyses of coastal systems and processes. (33%)
  • Coordinate and conduct laboratory analysis. Comfortable in conducting lab work following protocols and monitor changes and report findings. Safety protocols, troubleshooting and performing minor repairs. (33%)
  • Minimum Education/Experience

    Demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.

    None

    Preferred Experience , Skills, Training/Education

    Field and chemical laboratory experience is preferred. A Geographic Information Systems certificate or extensive experience with ArcGIS is desired. Experience with SAV/bathymetric mapping is preferred.
