We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Laboratory Technician to support laboratory operations by conducting tests, maintaining equipment, and ensuring accurate documentation of results. The successful candidate will follow established procedures, comply with safety standards, and contribute to efficient laboratory workflows.
Reporting to the LC/MS, GC/MS or Metals Group Lead, the Research Associate will support the Chemistry and Regulatory Testing and regulatory submissions. The Research Associate is a hands‑on, laboratory-based role in Durham, NC that will be responsible for helping to test products for regulatory submissions. The Research Associate is highly motivated, nimble at navigating complex challenges, a skilled multitasker, is adaptable and works effectively in a fast‑paced environment and works collaboratively with the teams in the laboratory.
- Responsible for performing non‑chromatographic methods on eliquid and aerosol samples (i.e., pH, water activity, Karl Fisher, density, and particle sizing)
- Perform preparation of eliquid and aerosol samples for analysis
- Perform preparation of reagents for lab usage
- Receive and log samples and supplies into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
- Cleaning of laboratory glassware
- Manage the regulatory documents systematically in a highly organized fashion
- Perform other related duties as assigned
A successful Research Associate will be able to successfully complete assigned tasks in a timely manner. They need to be readily adaptable to change while following established standard operating procedures.
Requirements Personal and Professional Qualifications- Minimum of one year’s experience in an analytical laboratory preferred
- Strong pipetting and weighing skills
- Ability to prepare clear, accurate, and concise written documentation
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to report issues in a logical and succinct manner
- Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills
- High level of motivation, flexibility, and attention to detail
- Experience with ENDS or nicotine-related products preferred
- Experience working in a regulated laboratory environment (e.g., ISO 17025) preferred but not required
- Education
:
Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biology, or related field;
Associate’s degree with 1 year of related experience - We offer healthcare plans, which you may opt into at your own expense
