Overview

At Hendersonville Veterinary Hospital, we’ve been serving our amazing community since the 1960s, and we’ve only just begun. We recently moved into a brand new, state-of-the-art facility! Our 5,000 square foot building includes 8 exam rooms and a dual dental suite, just to name a couple of the many new amenities. Over the last ten years, we have upgraded our x-ray equipment, added a laser surgical unit, received American Hospital Association Accreditation, and added state-of-the-art dental equipment and a digital dental x-ray unit.

Our in-house laboratory now includes Heska benchtop serum chemical analyzers, a fecal centrifuge, EKG, and blood pressure machines.

We are located in the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina and have been serving our community for the last 60 years. We have been AAHA accredited since 2001, being recognized for the highest level of veterinary care for over two decades. Our current doctors have tremendous skill in surgery, dentistry, diagnostic evaluation, and wellness/preventative care. Up to $30k Sign-on Bonus!

Position

Purpose

We are eager to add another veterinarian to our team!

Essential Responsibilities
  • Examine and treat companion animals to detect and determine the nature of disease or injuries.
  • Operate diagnostic equipment and collect diagnostic samples as well as interpret results.
  • Advise pet owners on preventative care and treatment options.
  • Perform surgery and prescribe medication as needed.
  • Provide counsel around pet end of life care.
  • Maintain patients’ medical records.
  • Ensures compliance with veterinary ethics and relevant statues, policies, and procedures.
Requirements/Qualifications
  • DVM/VMD degree from an accredited AVMA institution.
  • Appropriate state licensure.
  • Eligibility to obtain DEA/BNDD.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrates professional and courteous presentation consistently with staff and clients.
  • Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds with assistance.
