Registered Nurse; Rn

Coordinates nursing care of the surgical patient through the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation and evaluation. Complies with unit, state, federal, and JCAHO standards. Functions in several capacities, including scrub nurse, circulating nurse, and sterile processing.

• Coordinate nursing care of the surgical patient through assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation.
• Comply with unit, state, federal, and JCAHO standards.
• Function in multiple roles as needed, including scrub nurse, circulating nurse, and sterile processing.

• Education and Formal Training: Graduate of an accredited registered nurse program. Current and valid North Carolina Registered Nurse license with biannual renewal. CPR certification current or obtain within 30 days of hire date. ACLS certification within 6 months of hire and maintained.
• Work Experience: Previous OR experience required.
• Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Thorough knowledge of asepsis principles; thorough knowledge of patient assessment techniques, treatment techniques, and operation and maintenance of unit-specific equipment. Ability to respond to changing workloads and to perform accurately and precisely in crisis and emergency situations. Demonstrates even temperament, tact, sensitivity, sound judgment, and professional attitude. Ability to work effectively with others; stay knowledgeable of current trends;
  
  ensure that contracts with patients, the public, physicians, and hospital personnel are carried out in a friendly, courteous, and considerate manner.

• North Carolina Registered Nurse license (current with biannual renewal).
• CPR certification (current or obtain within 30 days of hire).
• ACLS certification (within 6 months of hire and maintained).
