Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Urology is a leading tertiary care service comprised of more than 40 surgeons and advanced practice providers delivering comprehensive urology care across the region and state.
The Nurse Manager will have direct clinical oversight of the Winston‑Salem Urology Clinic, a large and complex practice that serves as a hub for patient care and specialty procedures. This role is responsible for ensuring clinical excellence, patient safety, and high‑quality care delivery within the clinic.
In addition, the Nurse Manager will serve as a critical member of the Wake Area Urology Leadership Team to guide clinical and administrative operations across multiple sites, including Greensboro, Lexington, High Point, North Wilkesboro, and the Comprehensive Cancer Center in Winston‑Salem.
Key Responsibilities- Clinical Operations Management
- Oversee daily nursing operations of the Winston‑Salem Urology Clinic, including staffing, scheduling, and workflow optimization.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, infection control, and evidence‑based nursing practices.
- Support safe and efficient delivery of in‑office procedures and chemotherapy infusions.
- Leadership & Team Development
- Recruit, mentor, and manage nursing and clinical support staff.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and professional growth.
- Promote engagement and retention through effective communication and recognition.
- Quality & Performance Improvement
- Monitor clinical outcomes, patient experience, and operational metrics.
- Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and quality of care.
- Lead initiatives to maintain high standards of patient safety and satisfaction.
- Strategic Collaboration
- Partner with the Urology Leadership Team to align clinic operations with organizational goals.
- Contribute to planning and execution of service line strategies across all Wake Area locations.
- Serve as a liaison between nursing staff and multidisciplinary teams.
- Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing.
- Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred, one of which must be in nursing.
- Minimum five years' nursing experience preferred.
- Two years acute care experience within the last ten years preferred.
- Ambulatory experience preferred.
- Previous management or supervisory experience preferred.
- Current RN licensure in good standing with the applicable state Board of Nursing required.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), or Pediatric Emergency Assessment Recognition and Stabilization (PEARS) may be required within one year in select clinical areas.
- Certification in specialty area preferred.
- Ensures the hospital mission, the philosophy of the Department of Nursing, and service line objectives of the clinical area are achieved through annual goals and objectives that are measurable and accomplished within the specified period of time.
- Demonstrates the attributes of Caring Leadership, communicates effectively, and motivates others to achieve established outcomes.
- Responsible for compliance with all internal and external professional and regulatory agency standards including DFS, CMS, and TJC, with clinic Plan of Care guidelines, AHWFB Department of Nursing policies and standards, and applicable state Board of Nursing standards of practice. Identifies compliance issues and collaborates with DON and AHWFB compliance office to develop and implement action plans as needed.
- Provides leadership to staff to ensure goals are met through established standards of performance, support of the Mission, Vision, and Values of AHWFB, and evidence-based practice.
