OR Circulating Nurse – ASC

NC is seeking an experienced OR Circulating Nurse to support our Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) team. This role supports patient care activities throughout the perioperative process, ensuring safety and high-quality outcomes for patients and staff.

• Assess patient and family understanding of surgical procedures and provide perioperative education.
• Perform preoperative patient assessments, review surgeon preference cards, and prepare equipment/supplies.
• Administer medications safely and accurately.
• Position patients appropriately using aids to ensure safety, comfort, and prevention of complications.
• Perform surgical prep per protocol and surgeon preference.
• Handle and document specimens per policy.
• Conduct sponge, sharps, and instrument counts; initiate corrective action when necessary.
• Maintain aseptic technique and infection control standards, taking corrective action when breaks occur.
• Ensure operating suites are clean, stocked, and properly maintained.
• Operate, troubleshoot, and report issues with surgical instruments and equipment.
• Anticipate surgeon needs and prepare equipment and supplies accordingly.
• Document patient care and perioperative processes accurately.
• Participate in quality initiatives and process improvement efforts.
• Mentor and precept new staff members, sharing knowledge and supporting team development.

• Current North Carolina RN License
• BLS certification
• Minimum of 2+ years of operating room nursing experience
• Working knowledge and experience in a hospital or ASC operating room
• Ability to adhere to work schedule and manage time appropriately
• Ability to utilize resources in a timely, organized, and cost-effective manner

• CNOR certification
• Experience in scrubbing and circulating orthopaedic procedures
