STAFF DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR (RN) - GOLDEN YEARS NURSING HOME

Liberty Health and Rehab invites applications for the role of Staff Development Coordinator (RN) at our Golden Years Nursing Home. This position offers a $15,000 sign‑on bonus and is part of a caring, challenging environment.

Job Description:

  • Coordinates the staff development program for the facility.
  • Acts as the personnel health nurse.
  • Provides orientation for all employees following the orientation policy and outline.
  • Conducts blood‑borne pathogens training for new employees and provides updates to staff.
  • Conducts hazard communication standards training for new employees and presents yearly updates to all staff.
  • Serves as primary instructor for the Nurse Aide Training Program as approved by DFS.
  • Posts workshops, hospital in‑service, or continuing education classes relevant to staff and encourages attendance.
  • Coordinates, schedules, and directs in‑house in‑service for all staff.
  • Assists other Nursing Management Team members as directed by the Director of Nursing in reviewing incident reports.
  • Works as charge nurse and/or supervisor during nursing emergencies.

Job Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse licensed by the North Carolina Board of Nursing from an accredited nursing school.
  • Minimum five years of nursing experience in a long‑term care setting and/or nursing education.
  • Ability to provide quality nursing care to patients and a genuine interest in geriatric nursing.
  • CPR certification yearly.
  • Ability to supervise nursing staff and ensure work assignments are completed appropriately and timely.
  • Ability to make decisions regarding nursing problems.
  • Ability to teach, instruct, and direct orientation, continuing education, and in‑services.
  • Familiarity with personnel, departmental, and facility procedures and adherence to local, state, and federal requirements.
