STAFF DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR (RN) - GOLDEN YEARS NURSING HOME
Liberty Health and Rehab invites applications for the role of Staff Development Coordinator (RN) at our Golden Years Nursing Home. This position offers a $15,000 sign‑on bonus and is part of a caring, challenging environment.
Job Description:
- Coordinates the staff development program for the facility.
- Acts as the personnel health nurse.
- Provides orientation for all employees following the orientation policy and outline.
- Conducts blood‑borne pathogens training for new employees and provides updates to staff.
- Conducts hazard communication standards training for new employees and presents yearly updates to all staff.
- Serves as primary instructor for the Nurse Aide Training Program as approved by DFS.
- Posts workshops, hospital in‑service, or continuing education classes relevant to staff and encourages attendance.
- Coordinates, schedules, and directs in‑house in‑service for all staff.
- Assists other Nursing Management Team members as directed by the Director of Nursing in reviewing incident reports.
- Works as charge nurse and/or supervisor during nursing emergencies.
Job Requirements:
- Registered Nurse licensed by the North Carolina Board of Nursing from an accredited nursing school.
- Minimum five years of nursing experience in a long‑term care setting and/or nursing education.
- Ability to provide quality nursing care to patients and a genuine interest in geriatric nursing.
- CPR certification yearly.
- Ability to supervise nursing staff and ensure work assignments are completed appropriately and timely.
- Ability to make decisions regarding nursing problems.
- Ability to teach, instruct, and direct orientation, continuing education, and in‑services.
- Familiarity with personnel, departmental, and facility procedures and adherence to local, state, and federal requirements.
