Volunteer Board Member – Board of Directors

Paws Place is a nonprofit dog rescue dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and adoption of dogs in need
. Through the dedication of volunteers and supporters, we work every day to give dogs a second chance at life.

Paws Place Dog Rescue is seeking dedicated and passionate individuals to join our Board of Directors as we continue to expand our impact in saving the lives of dogs in need. Our board plays a vital role in guiding the organization’s strategic direction, ensuring financial stewardship, and strengthening our ability to rescue, rehabilitate, and place dogs into loving homes. We are particularly seeking candidates who can actively support our fundraising and community engagement efforts.

Ideal candidates will have:

• Fundraising experience (REQUIRED), particularly securing corporate sponsor ships and silent auction donations
• A willingness and ability to engage with media outlets and public officials to help raise awareness of our mission
• Comfort representing Paws Place in the community and acting as a shelter ambassador several days each month
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• A passion for animal welfare and nonprofit service

• Help shape, protect, and advance the mission and vision of Paws Place Dog Rescue
• Support development of annual operational and strategic goals
• Provide oversight and stewardship of organizational finances
• Assist with fundraising, donor engagement, and sponsorship development
• Participate in community outreach and awareness efforts
• Attend regular board meetings and actively contribute to organizational initiatives

Board members serve three-year terms and may be re-elected for additional terms.
