Director, Compliance Execution - Manufacturing Quality About the Role
Lead hands-on implementation and enforcement of quality and compliance standards across Ashley's manufacturing operations. Translate regulatory requirements into actionable floor-level procedures, provide real-time compliance presence in production, and ensure quality standards are executed daily—not just documented.
What You'll Do- Design and implement manufacturing compliance programs actively followed in daily operations
- Provide real-time quality and compliance presence in production areas
- Review and approve batch documentation and authorize product lot releases
- Lead preparation for regulatory audits and manage audit responses
- Conduct site-wide compliance monitoring and internal audit programs
- Lead CAPA investigations with root cause analysis and sustainable corrective actions
- Develop and deliver practical quality and compliance training to manufacturing staff
- Partner with Engineering, Operations, and Product Development to embed compliance into workflows
- Oversee manufacturing documentation systems, SOPs, and quality records
- Manage change control processes and maintain compliance metrics dashboards
- Lead and develop manufacturing quality and compliance team
- Drive culture where quality and compliance enable production efficiency
- Bachelor s degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality Assurance, or related technical field
- 10+ years in manufacturing quality/compliance in regulated environment
- 5+ years in leadership roles with direct reports
- Deep understanding of GMP principles and quality management systems
- Expert-level root cause analysis and CAPA experience
- Strong production floor presence and credibility with manufacturing teams
- Ability to balance compliance requirements with production efficiency
- Exceptional communication across all levels—production floor to executive leadership
- Experience reviewing batch documentation and approving product releases
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and quality management software
- 25-35% domestic and international travel
- Master s degree in Quality Management or Engineering
- Professional certifications: CQE, CQA, Six Sigma Black Belt, ASQ
- Furniture, wood products, or consumer products manufacturing experience
- Multi-site manufacturing operations experience
- Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement expertise
- Time shared between office and manufacturing floor (primarily on-site)
- Regular presence in production areas, warehouses, and quality labs
- Exposure to manufacturing conditions (noise, temperature variations, machinery)
- May lift/carry up to 50 lbs
- Standing, walking, bending, climbing throughout facilities
- 25-35% travel to manufacturing sites
