Site Utility Person

About The Role

Sunrock is seeking a dependable Site Utility Person to support the day-to-day housekeeping, preventive maintenance, and general upkeep of multiple Asphalt and Concrete plant sites. This role is essential to keeping plant operations running safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate is hardworking, mechanically inclined, safety-focused, and able to work independently while supporting multiple job sites as needed.

• Perform daily site housekeeping: plant/yard cleanup, weir pits, containment areas, mixer/plant cleanup, and surrounding areas
• Support recycling processes and responsible handling of returned materials
• Assist with preventive maintenance (cleaning, lubrication, basic inspections)
• Visually/audibly inspect plant equipment for malfunctions and report issues to supervisor
• Help dismantle/replace defective equipment parts and assist with repairs
• Assist with pipe systems and hydraulic/pneumatic equipment (valves, gauges, regulators, etc.)
• Climb stairs/catwalks to complete cleaning and maintenance tasks safely
• Cross-train to support site equipment operations (loader, skid steer, dump truck, sweeper)
• Develop ability to safely use cutting torch and welding equipment
• Load/unload materials and supplies manually as needed
• Follow all Sunrock, OSHA, and MSHA safety procedures and report unsafe conditions

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Less than 1 year of related experience required (construction, maintenance, plant, industrial, or labor experience preferred)
• Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand tools
• Willingness to work flexible hours, overtime, and weekends
• Ability to travel between multiple locations as needed
• Valid North Carolina Driver’s License required
