Job DescriptionStarting wage is based on experience and shift. In addition to a base wage, every associate is eligible for quarterly profit sharing!! Various shifts are available and off shifts include additional shift differential pay.
SummaryInspects materials and products as they pass through a variety of checkpoints, including but not limited to receiving, in-process, and prior to assembly. Completes accurate inspection reports and maintains a filing system for these reports. Performs torque validation on critical to quality torque equipment.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities- An understanding of firearm requirements provided by Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerances (GD&T) as defined on Ruger Engineering Drawings and Process Documentation.
- Able to work independently to verify the conformance of machined, MIM, plastic and assemblies according to operation sheets, customer specifications, and drawings.
- Thorough knowledge of dimensional, visual, and mechanical inspection processes.
- Determines acceptability of manufactured components through various inspection tasks involving the use of a wide variety of standard and precision test instruments and equipment (Examples include: 2D/3D Keyence, CMM and Equators).
- Support First Article Inspection (FAI), incoming, visual and final inspection of firearm components
- Identifies and recommends disposition of defective items in accordance with established procedures.
- Ensure raw materials and products are in accordance with established product tolerance levels for quality and performance
- Support and maintain Job Instructions and ensure standard work is followed for the plant. This includes but is not limited to:
Hardness validation, Micro Hardness, and various dimensional requirements through variable inspection equipment. - Works closely with purchasing, shipping, receiving and production to prioritize and maintain flow of incoming material from dock to stock to prevent or to minimize any down events.
- Accurately completes all necessary paperwork on a daily basis

- Proficient with geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T)
- Possess strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Maintains accuracy and attention to detail at all times and completes tasks in a timely manner
- Contributes to continuous improvement, waste elimination, and supports 5S initiatives
- Generates suggestions for improving work; develops innovative approaches and ideas.

EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCETwo years full time experience and/or training in dimensional metrology within the past five years.
Language SkillsAbility to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical SkillsAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals and calculate right triangle trigonometry.
REASONING ABILITYAbility to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Other QualificationsPossess strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) experience is desirable.
