Assistant Operator II Mt Gilead NC

What we need:

Mohawk is looking for an Assistant Operator who will be responsible for the visual monitoring of the Energy Plant, Refining, and Press areas for unfamiliar noises, leaks, and possible equipment failures, as well as housekeeping duties. This operator will also be responsible for assisting the Press Operator in the operations of the air graders, forming station, and press line.

• Monitors the continuous production of product through the air graders, forming line and press.
• Monitors raw board quality.
• Communicates with operators to maintain stable and consistent production.
• Monitors furnace, thermal oil pumps, resin pumps and lines, steam generator and refiner by making periodic rounds.
• Identifies process variation.
• Assists in executing plant shut downs.
• Obtains resin samples from delivery trucks.
• Performs basic maintenance related tasks.
• Performs housekeeping activities.
• Assists maintenance personnel in performing technical work.
• Performs other related duties as required.

• High school diploma or GED equivalency required.
• Reads and writes in standard English and proficient in performing basic math calculations such as addition and subtraction.
• Successful completion of all required on the job training.
• Successful completion of all required health and environmental safety training.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment a plus.

• Must be an effective team member.
• Ability to wear hearing protection, eye protection, and steel toe shoes.
• Good oral and written communication skills to effectively interact with others in the immediate work unit and in related supported areas.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment a plus.
