Role Overview
As a Finisher in our case goods plant, you will be responsible for preparing, staining, and finishing wood components and completed furniture pieces. This full-time role is ideal for individuals with hands-on finishing experience who take pride in producing consistent, high-quality work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities- Apply stains, sealers, glazes, and topcoats using spray equipment or hand-application methods
- Prepare wood surfaces through sanding, filling, and cleaning to ensure proper finish adhesion
- Match colors to established production standards and maintain consistency across product runs
- Inspect raw and finished components for defects and perform necessary touch-ups or corrections
- Ensure proper drying times, even coverage, and smooth finish quality
- Identify and correct common finishing issues such as streaks, light spots, or surface imperfections
- Maintain finishing tools, spray booths, and work areas in clean and safe working condition
- Follow all safety procedures related to chemical handling, ventilation, and equipment operation
- Work collaboratively with supervisors and team members to meet production goals
- Minimum 1-3 years of experience in wood finishing, preferably in a furniture manufacturing environment
- Basic understanding of stains, sealers, and finishing materials
- Ability to operate spray guns, sanding tools, and other finishing equipment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work
- Ability to follow instructions, color standards, and production processes
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced setting
- Knowledge of safe handling practices for finishing materials
- Experience with both water-based and solvent-based finishing systems
- Ability to perform color matching and minor formula adjustments
- Familiarity with case goods finishing processes and production flow
