We are looking for a skilled material handler to perform a variety of tasks as assigned in conjunction with the assembly of our product. This position is responsible for safely performing high‑level continuous work to quality standards. Assignments may change based on business demands.
Responsibilities- Receive, ship, load, and unload materials/parts from suppliers or carriers. Materials may be unloaded from trucks, pallets, trays, racks, or shelves by hand, with forklift, or other material handling device.
- Visually inspect incoming pieces/parts for compliance and obvious damage; inform Quality if necessary.
- Move material/parts from warehouse or receiving area to designated line or stock locations (e.g., to proper stock location, to inspection area, to machine cell) while using barcode scanner and/or computers.
- Use computer and/or barcode scanner to properly identify stock locations to retrieve parts.
- Move stock to release, consolidate, or change part locations.
- Read work order or follow oral instructions to determine materials to be transferred; inform inventory control to update computer system when necessary (e.g., quantity mismatch, mixed parts, wrong labels).
- Count, weigh, and record number of units of materials received, moved, or shipped and report inconsistencies to inventory control.
- Operate forklift, hand truck, and/or other material handling equipment to assist in loading or moving any material.
- Receive work orders from planners; pick parts to jobs for machine shop, assembly areas, staging for kits, and spare part sales orders using barcode scanner and/or computer.
- Assist with inventory management of shipping and packing materials, maintain an organized work area, and manage waste streams including cardboard recycling.
- Follow all ISO procedures and safety rules, including wearing personal safety equipment.
- Remove any debris found on shelves throughout the warehouse.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 1+ years experience with warehouse, material handling, and inventory control.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact positively and work cooperatively in a team environment.
- Self‑motivated and willing to change priorities as needed.
- Willing to participate in continuous learning opportunities for personal and job development.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions in English, short correspondence, and memos, such as supervisory instructions, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and work orders.
- Ability to effectively share information about job duties in one‑on‑one and small group situations to customers and other employees of the organization.
