Quality Logistics Operator - 1st Shift
Role Overview
As a Quality Logistics Operator, you will play a key role in supporting continuous improvement within the quality department. This position involves hands‑on tasks to ensure proper handling of nonconforming materials, maintaining high standards of workplace organization, and assisting in root cause analysis efforts.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure timely disassembly, mutilation, and disposal of scrap materials
- Operate a forklift to remove and dispose of materials from production areas
- Maintain accurate records of weights for disposed materials
- Communicate status updates on waste dumpsters to quality and shipping teams, verbally and in writing
- Support engineering root‑cause analysis by cutting nonconforming products using a band saw
- Maintain saw room and material storage areas to the highest 5S standards
- Change out forklift fuel tanks as needed
- Work independently with minimal supervision, managing multiple priorities effectively
- Communicate clearly and professionally in English, verbally and in writing
- Other duties as assigned
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of 2 years of manufacturing experience, preferably in testing or quality assurance
- Familiarity with basic hand tools (e.g., hammer, screwdriver)
- Strong situational awareness and safety focus
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Physical requirements:
occasional lifting up to 50 lbs; frequent squatting, bending, stooping, sitting, stretching; standing and walking for extended periods; full range of motion and manual dexterity - Ability to work in varying environmental conditions (heat, rain, cold)
- Must have valid work authorization to work for ABB in the U.S.
- Knowledge of 5S principles
- Forklift experience
