Overview
2nd Shift Production Supervisor – Trulite is GROWING! Based at our Dallas, NC location. This role is a Salary Exempt position and reports directly to the Plant Manager. A successful Production Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that the manufacturing department operates at peak efficiency while continually looking to improve output. The supervisor oversees and conducts training for new team members, provides feedback and develops their team.
The person in this role must be adaptable to changing business environments and departmental needs, as well as inter-departmental and customer communications and confidentiality.

What You Will Do- Convey Management’s expectations and direction.
- Train, direct, and motivate employees and make recommendations to Management on their behalf.
- In conjunction with the Production Manager, supervise and coordinate plant floor activities of workers in the manufacturing processes of Tempering glass products.
- Assist in overseeing and/or conducting training of new and existing employees, including work methods and procedures, safety training and following employee handbook guidelines.
- Inspect products to verify conformance to Company specifications and direct setup and adjustments of machines.
- Provide timely and accurate feedback on performance reviews, disciplinary issues, material shortages, and equipment problems when required.
- Participate in interviewing, hiring, and terminations of employees as needed.
- Retention, training, and continued development of hourly associates.
- Interface with team members daily and act as the first line of command in resolving problems and maintaining efficient, orderly workflow.
- Ensure on-time delivery, manage the flow of raw materials, and control inventory.
- Adhere to product and customer specifications.
- Comply with all required Employment Laws and OSHA regulations and policies.
- Accurate and timely production reporting.
- Maintain appropriate working relationships with internal and external customers and regulatory agency employees.
- Create and maintain a plant floor environment that promotes safety and safe operation of the process.
- Continued assessment of cost reduction opportunities through resource utilization to remove process costs, improve efficiencies, and develop creative staffing strategies.
- Experience in 5S and Lean manufacturing knowledge.
- Maintain and improve high quality levels by ensuring that all work processes are performed correctly and accurately.
- 3-5 years of Manufacturing Supervisory experience, training, or equivalent combination of education and experience (MUST).
- Experience in a glass or steel environment (MUST).
- 5S and Lean manufacturing knowledge (Required).
