Position Summary
Position Summary: The Style Change Tech is primarily responsible for setting up new style developments and producing style changes with a focus on Quality. Obtain and document machine settings for the development of style specifications sheets.
Position responsibilities- Performs and completes style changes and machine set ups as per knitting specification sheets.
- Perform any quality related measurements or checks as required.
- Perform routine repairs on knitting machines such as broke/bent needles, broke/bent pattern jacks, etc.
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance on assigned machines as required to keep knitting machines running in top condition.
- Record style change down time with Supervisor.
- Assist Knitting Mechanics with re-needling machines, load ups, butt-offs, etc.
- Assist Knitting Mechanics to keep machines running.
- Ensure machines are producing first quality fabric after a style change.
- Maintain yarn tensions utilizing various feeders to ensure consistent fabric appearance.
- Be familiar with yarn counts and types.
- Report needed spare parts, broken items, and any issues concerning production to Supervisor.
- Record defect repairs on knitting production ticket as required.
- Assist Knitters and Inspectors with questions about defects.
- Follow all safety procedures/policies and advise management of any unsafe conditions.
- Keep work area neat and clean.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Must have experience with the operation and routine maintenance of circular, large diameter, double and single knit knitting machines.
- Must be knowledgeable of different types of yarn fibers and counts.
- Must be knowledgeable about fabric defects and causes.
- Must keep Knitting Manager and Supervisors informed of any issues concerning the quality of samples and the effects on production.
- Related experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Time management: the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong team player.
- Commitment to company values.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- HSD/GED
