The location in Plymouth, (North Carolina, United States), is seeking talent to fill the position of Electrical/Instrument Maintenance (All Levels). This job is full-time permanent.
Team/DepartmentDomtar is seeking safety-oriented individuals of all skill levels to join our maintenance team in our Electrical and Instrumentation department at the Plymouth, North Carolina mill. The primary function of the Electrical and Instrumentation Department is to maintain equipment to keep it running smoothly, perform tests and calibrations, repair or replace components and troubleshoot equipment operational problems. Must have a personal dedication to safety, including proactive support of efforts to create a culture of safety excellence.

If selected for consideration, you must successfully complete a selection process that may include, but is not limited to, aptitude tests, interviews, practical skills demonstration, criminal background investigation, reference verification, and pre-employment drug screening. Applicants can apply to test for skills in electrical or instrumentation. Domtar requires participation in a structured apprentice program. Some positions may rotate shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Key Responsibilities- Perform tests and maintenance procedures for instruments used for measuring and controlling flow, level, pressure, temperature, chemical composition and other variables in manufacturing and processing.
- Calibrate components and instruments according to manufacturer’s specifications.
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance work and complete test and maintenance reports.
- Install control and measurement instruments on existing and new plant equipment and processes.
- Consult with and advise process operators.
- Must have a high school diploma or GED.
- Successful completion of technical electrical assessment.
- Available to work varying hours that may include shift, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to work scheduled and unscheduled overtime and respond to emergency call-ins.
- Pass pre-employment background check and drug screen.
- Wear the required personal protective equipment.
- Work in industrial conditions (i.e., warm/hot, dusty/dirty, around hazardous chemicals, noise, and heavy machinery or working at heights with proper safety training and safety protection).
- Entry E/I Requirements: Candidates must have an Associate’s Degree in the Electrical or Instrumentation field or one year related industrial electrical/instrumentation experience.
- Advanced E/I Requirements: Candidates must have an Associate’s Degree in the Electrical or Instrumentation field and one year related industrial electrical/instrumentation experience or three years related industrial electrical/instrumentation experience.
- Journeyman E/I Requirements: Candidates must have an Associate’s Degree in the Electrical or Instrumentation field and two years related industrial electrical/instrumentation experience or five years related industrial electrical/instrumentation experience.
