Position Summary
This full-time Maintenance Technician role supports a plastics manufacturing facility by installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production equipment, utilities, and facility systems. The position focuses on maximizing production readiness while following strict safety standards and maintenance methodologies such as Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM).
Job DescriptionReporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Technician performs preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance; documents work in a CMMS; supports equipment breakdown resolution; fabricates or modifies equipment; and helps sustain safety, reliability, and continuous improvement initiatives. The role requires strong technical ability, safety awareness, and the capacity to work both independently and as part of a maintenance team.
MainDuties & Responsibilities
- Perform installation, troubleshooting, repairs, inspections, and maintenance on production and facility equipment
- Execute preventive and predictive maintenance, inspections, and equipment rebuilds
- Diagnose and resolve equipment breakdowns using RCA and failure analysis methods
- Document maintenance work in the CMMS and help prevent repeat failures
- Follow safety procedures including LOTO, PPE, and regulatory compliance standards
- Mechanical & electrical troubleshooting
- Preventive & predictive maintenance (TPM/RCM)
- Safety & documentation discipline
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum ~2 years experience in a manufacturing maintenance role
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, manuals, and P&IDs
- Strong problem solving, judgement, and communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic math (including fractions/decimals)
- Ability to multitask, work under pressure, and support emergency repairs
- Willingness to participate in ongoing training and education
- Preferred:
Technical school or college coursework; welding, electrical, pneumatic skills
