Sanitation Manager

. This role is located in Pembroke, NC, and you’ll supervise the sanitation of production equipment, ensuring compliance with FDA, SQF, and company policies.

$70,000.00/yr – $90,000.00/yr

• Develop and comply with sanitation standard operating procedures (SSOPs), eight steps of sanitation, forms, and Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS).
• Conduct routine inspections for cleanliness on process equipment and environment for compliance with FDA & SQF audit schemes.
• Generate written reports and formal communications to ensure that work requests are satisfactorily completed on time.
• Oversee, coordinate, and schedule all sanitation activities performed by the sanitation workers.
• Create a work environment that reflects a commitment to protecting the health and safety of employees, food safety, and product quality.
• Provide continuous improvement training for sanitation employees to achieve or maintain sanitation and company objectives as well as employee’s personal growth.
• Identify and recommend ideas for effective cleaning procedures, improving employee safety, and enhancing food safety.
• Collaborate with other teams including maintenance, quality, and production to troubleshoot issues.
• Resolve employee concerns and conflicts.
• Participate in both internal and external audits.
• Maintain proper documentation of sanitation programs including Pest Control, Daily Cleaning Checklist, Master Sanitation Schedule, Training Records, and Chemical Inventory.
• Monitor microbiological reports and verify whether cleaning procedures are being followed; implement corrective action as necessary.

• 5 years of sanitation experience in a food manufacturing environment.
• 2 years of supervisory experience.
• Proficiency with SSOPs and the eight steps of sanitation.
• Proficiency in GMPs, food safety and quality, and sanitary design of equipment and production environment.
• Detailed knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safety protocols.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Proficiency in computer and Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word).
• Must have a flexible schedule, including the ability to work overtime and weekends if necessary.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Able to handle and prioritize multiple tasks.
