About the RoleThe Cycle Counter plays a critical role in maintaining accurate inventory levels within a manufacturing environment by performing regular and systematic counts of materials and products. This position ensures that inventory records are precise, which supports efficient production planning and timely order fulfillment. The Cycle Counter collaborates closely with warehouse and production teams to identify discrepancies and implement corrective actions promptly.
By maintaining up-to-date inventory data, this role helps minimize stockouts and overstock situations, directly impacting operational efficiency and cost control. Ultimately, the Cycle Counter contributes to the overall success of the manufacturing process by ensuring inventory integrity and supporting seamless material flow.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience with material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and hand trucks.
- Basic knowledge of inventory control and order picking processes.
- Ability to operate barcode scanning devices and maintain accurate records.
- Physical ability to perform repetitive tasks and lift moderate weights safely.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
- Familiarity with shipping and receiving procedures.
- Experience working on or supporting assembly line operations.
- Ability to work flexible hours including overtime as required.
- Basic computer skills for inventory management systems.
- Conduct regular cycle counts of inventory items using established procedures to verify stock accuracy.
- Utilize material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and hand trucks to access and move inventory safely during counts.
- Record and report discrepancies between physical counts and inventory records, collaborating with warehouse and production teams to resolve issues.
- Assist with order picking, shipping, and receiving activities as needed to support warehouse operations.
- Work overtime when necessary to meet inventory deadlines and support production schedules.
- Use barcode scanning technology to accurately track inventory movements and update records in real time.
- Support assembly line operations by ensuring the availability and accuracy of required materials.
The Cycle Counter uses material handling equipment daily to safely and efficiently move inventory items during counts and order fulfillment. Proficiency with barcode scanning technology is essential for accurately recording inventory data and minimizing errors. Skills in order picking and shipping/receiving processes enable the Cycle Counter to support broader warehouse operations beyond counting.
