Job SummaryProviding support to ensure efficient operation of the manufacturing floor. This role is responsible for confidential and time‐sensitive material and must be familiar with a variety of field concepts, practices, and procedures. The candidate will communicate via phone and email, ensuring tasks are completed accurately, with high quality and timely delivery, and will plan and accomplish goals using experience and judgement.
Key Job Responsibilities- Understand and acknowledge day‑to‑day responsibilities for environmental, health and safety, conduct safety audits, develop action plans, and report progress to the department manager, EHS administrator, or Plant Manager.
- Plan and direct daily activities within the department, either directly or through group leaders, including order‑processing flow to meet on‑time delivery and lead‑time goals.
- Identify maintenance issues and ensure scheduled and preventive maintenance is completed on time; close out completed work orders daily.
- Recommend staffing changes and/or overtime to satisfy production requirements and review and focus on increasing productivity year over year.
- Ensure compliance with all product quality requirements, identify opportunities to improve quality and reduce scrap, participate in scrap meetings, and conduct Control Plan audits.
- Participate in or lead continuous improvement projects to meet performance objectives, submit monthly update reports to the department manager, and address open Corrective Action Requests (CARs) promptly.
- Conduct regular quarterly communication meetings for assigned work centers, reviewing plant quality procedures, non‑conformance, employee performance, and assigning improvement activities and priorities.
- Maintain employee time and attendance records, counsel employees to address performance concerns, complete annual performance appraisals, and arrange training as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High school graduate; a 4‑year secondary degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years manufacturing experience or 2 or more years of formal technical training beyond high school and 3–5 years of people supervision with proven conflict‑resolution ability.
- Excellent computer skills; high proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Basic professional knowledge of environmental, health and safety issues.
- Working knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, robust problem‑solving techniques, material requirements planning (MRP), and time and attendance systems.
- Computer software:
Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook).
