Responsibilities
  • Identify production issues quickly and ensure consistent workflow and control of the line(s) or department; adjust as needed to prioritize and support production goals and deadlines.
  • Monitor and maintain general supplies for the line or department; ensure items are available and stocked (e.g., staples, bags, cardboard, fabric, tach strips, glue). Coordinate with the supply person to obtain main components to keep the department running and minimize idle time.
  • Assist Supervisors or management with assessing performance issues; provide direction or training to ensure daily tasks are performed promptly and to high standards; follow SOPs as required for accurate performance of processes.
  • Identify performance gaps and fill in as needed to balance lines or product flow and cover absences on lines or in the department.
  • Promote safe, compliant, and efficient task execution; model integrity and accountable behavior.
  • Demonstrate work ethic aligned with Supervisor/Management; foster teamwork and collaboration with associates.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and execution of Williams-Sonoma’s Mission, Vision, and Values; guide other associates and departments accordingly.
  • Solicit associate input on issues affecting work area or operations to maximize productivity and meet quality goals.
  • Share appropriate communication or approved business information with associates through floor presence and direct channels, in coordination with supervision or management.
  • Promote safety awareness and compliance with safety processes to cultivate a safety culture.
  • Maintain a clean and safe production environment; respond to unsafe conditions promptly.
  • As directed by Supervisor, track productivity, identify and resolve issues, and provide feedback on productivity and quality to associates, peers, supervision and management.
  • Coordinate team assignments by balancing resources according to volume needs.
Qualifications
  • At least 1–3 years of experience in an upholstery manufacturing environment.
  • Prior forklift experience: sit-down forklift.
  • Onsite and in-office role.
  • Basic Microsoft Office Suite knowledge.
  • Good math and reading skills; effective verbal and written communication.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving ability; dependable and service-minded; able to work well with others.
  • Ability to lead a group of associates; work effectively in a fast-paced environment; strong sense of urgency and time management.
Preferred Qualities
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, ability to work under pressure and learn quickly.
  • Excellent attendance and team-oriented attitude; ability to multitask and maintain attention to detail.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to walk, stand, bend, and lift throughout the day.
  • Ability to use a computer for extended periods.
  • Lift up to 65 lbs. with or without accommodation.
