- Min T/E Requirements: An earned Doctoral Degree in an appropriate career path is preferred, though a Master's Degree accompanied by extensive, relevant background and experience is acceptable. Sponsored Program Certification is preferred. Extensive experience with research grants; research career programs; instructional projects; public service projects; minority and disadvantaged programs; economic development projects; partnerships; and cooperative agreement projects, including educational and health professions grants is essential.

- Primary Purpose of Organization Unit: The Office of Sponsored Research and Programs provides leadership, oversight, and support for externally funded research, scholarly activity, and institutional grant programs. OSRP facilitates the development, submission, negotiation, and management of grants, contracts, and cooperative agreements; ensures compliance with federal, state, and sponsor regulations; and supports faculty and staff in securing external funding that advances the research, service, and academic mission of the university.
The unit serves as the central coordinating office for pre-award and post-award administration and promotes collaborative partnerships that enhance the university's capacity for research and sponsored program activity. - Primary Purpose of Position: The Director of Sponsored Research provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for the Office of Sponsored Research and Programs. The position is responsible for guiding the development, submission, and management of grants, contracts, and cooperative agreements; ensuring institutional compliance with all applicable federal, state, and sponsor regulations; and supporting faculty and staff in pursuing external funding opportunities.
