Job Overview

As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections to ensure the safety, functionality, and overall appearance of our community. You will work closely with staff and residents to address maintenance needs in a timely and efficient manner. Strong problem‑solving skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing excellent service are essential.

Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance on building systems.
  • Complete assigned work orders proficiently and in a timely manner.
  • Inspect and identify equipment or machines requiring repair.
  • Diagnose mechanical issues and correct them.
  • Plan repair work using building blueprints or equipment manuals as needed.
  • Carry out general repairs that do not require a specialized technician (e.g., drywall, painting, doors, fixtures).
  • Clean and assist with upkeep of the facilities.
  • Order supplies and materials needed for repairs and maintenance.
  • Oversee contractors for professional repairs.
  • Use hand tools and power tools, following instructions from supervisors or senior maintenance workers.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned and work in other positions temporarily when necessary.
  • Maintain excellent organizational and time‑management skills while working individually.
  • Provide courteous and professional service to residents and staff, including those who are ill, disabled, elderly, or emotionally upset.
  • Take initiative to ensure resident safety and satisfaction.
  • Meet and greet visitors in a friendly, helpful manner (including residents, families, prospective residents, referral sources, vendors, and regulators).
  • Ensure compliance with all regulations regarding residents’ rights.

  • Physical stamina to handle a full shift of active work on the building.
  • Ability to function independently and adapt flexibly to changing duties.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with residents and staff.
