Application Developer; Manufacturing Systems

This position is on-site at Liberty NC and W2 Contract.

An international IT service & solutions provider is seeking a Software Engineer (Manufacturing Systems) in Liberty/Greensboro NC area to ensure stability, reliability, and high performance across our mission-critical applications.

This role focuses on application development, system integration, and database management to ensure stable and efficient operations at manufacturing sites.

The ideal candidate has strong programming skills (C#, .NET, Python), solid SQL Server expertise, and experience supporting or developing applications in a manufacturing or operations-driven environment.

• Design, develop, and maintain manufacturing applications using C#/.NET
  .
• Enhance tools/utilities that support manufacturing operations.
• Build and maintain REST API integrations between MES/ERP/shop-floor systems.
• Develop and maintain SQL Server (queries, stored procedures, scripts); support data extraction/integration.
• Troubleshoot application(MES/MOM Systems) and database issues impacting site operations; perform root cause analysis.
• Support deployments, upgrades, patches, testing, and documentation.
• Contribute to automation and continuous improvement (Kaizen) through technical enhancements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and global counterparts (including oversea); communicate clearly with technical/non-technical stakeholders.
• While performing the duties of this job you may be required to intermittently sit, stand, walk, lift 10-25 pounds if needed. You may also be required to use close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and peripheral vision and hearing.
• Other duties assigned depending on various projects requirements.

• Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in application development and IT systems support in an operations-driven environment.
• Strong hands-on experience with:
• C# / .NET Framework and/or .NET Core
• SQL Server (complex queries, joins, stored procedures, functions, scripts)
• Experience with database fundamentals (tables/keys, indexing basics, data integrity concepts).
• Proven troubleshooting ability across application + database layers (log analysis, defect isolation, root cause analysis).
• Experience supporting business-critical systems with a strong sense of ownership (prioritization, incident handling, follow-through).
• Ability to work directly with manufacturing stakeholders and translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Strong documentation skills (technical notes, deployment steps, runbooks, known issues).
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver in a fast-paced environment.

• Experience supporting or developing manufacturing systems such as MES/MOM and shop-floor operations applications.
• Experience with Prostage
  -related systems and Prostage SQL work (data extraction/updates, stored procedures, integration support).
• Experience integrating MES ↔ ERP and supporting interfaces (batch jobs, file/API integrations, data validation).
• Exposure to SQL performance tuning (execution plans, indexing strategy, query optimization).
• Familiarity with source control (Git) and standard development workflows (branching, code reviews).
• Experience with ITSM/ticketing processes and tools (Incident/Problem/Change).
• Knowledge of Windows application environments relevant to .NET apps (e.g., IIS, scheduled tasks, services).
• Experience working in global/cross-cultural teams; ability to coordinate with Japan-based counterparts.
• Bilingual English/Japanese is a plus.
• Knowledge of Linux/Raspberry Pi environments is a plus.
