Amazon Web Services (AWS) is a fast‑paced technology company and a leader in data center operations. We are expanding our infrastructure management team and are looking for a proven technology manager with people‑management experience, strong technical knowledge, and a vision to elevate AWS Data Center Operations.
The infrastructure delivery manager will drive sustainable processes, automation opportunities, and high‑quality delivery of inbound capacity and equipment, while overseeing a growing team and ensuring low‑voltage structured cabling across the Amazon data center platform.
Key Job Responsibilities- Prioritize and assign tasks to data center technicians and operators; project manage, coach, and document processes.
- Manage inbound capacity from receipt through deployment.
- Install network and cabling infrastructure in a data‑center environment.
- Guide, train, and educate staff on best practices for service owners.
- Manage tasks and deliverables across small to large‑size projects.
- Document and oversee policies and procedures to meet industry best practices and SLAs.
- Provide weekly reports to the data‑center manager.
- Coordinate team resources to support projects, including emergency, change‑management, and maintenance windows, as well as on‑call needs.
- Recruit and train data technicians to maintain optimal staffing levels.
- Host weekly staff meetings.
- Drive compliance with Amazon performance management requirements.
- 5+ years of operations management experience.
- Experience leveraging technology and implementing lean principles / Six Sigma to drive process improvements.
- Experience with fiber‑optic and copper cabling standards, testing equipment, and troubleshooting methods.
- Experience in technical work related to computer systems and technology components.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
- Experience with system‑management tools and client/server environments.
- Experience in computer architecture or general hardware troubleshooting/debugging.
- Travel up to 20% of the time.
- Experience working in fast‑paced environments and managing workload during stress or escalated activity.
