JobPurpose and Summary

In our Retail locations, our Pharmacy Technicians (Technicians) play a critical role in supporting the pharmacy teams to consistently deliver on our brand promise. Technicians assist the pharmacy team to ensure that pharmacy operations run smoothly, prescriptions are filled promptly, safely and accurately, and we provide caring service that exceeds patient expectations.
Responsibilities- Living our purpose by following all company SOPs at each workstation.
- Following pharmacy workflow procedures for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
- Contributing to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care; offering immunizations and other services; and solving or escalating patient problems.
- Completing basic inventory activities, including putting away medication deliveries and performing cycle counts.
- Contributing to a high‑performing team, embracing a growth mindset, and actively seeking opportunities to expand clinical and technical knowledge.
- Remaining flexible for scheduling and business needs; traveling to stores in the market as needed.
- Understanding and complying with all federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and CVS policies to ensure patient safety and privacy.
- Delivering additional patient health care services (e.g., immunizations, point‑of‑care testing) where permissible.
- Obtaining Technician Immunizer status through required licensure and training.
- Educating patients about vaccines and referring them to the pharmacist‑on‑duty for questions.
- Monitoring for and responding to adverse reactions; reporting events per public health requirements.
- Reviewing, collecting, and documenting patient information for vaccine administration.
- Monitoring and managing vaccine supplies.
- Compliance with state board of pharmacy requirements or laws governing the practice of pharmacy.
- If no minimum age is mandated, must be at least 16 years old.
- If no minimum education is mandated, must have a high school diploma or equivalent, or be actively enrolled in such program.
- State‑level licensure and national certification requirements vary by state.
- Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Completion of required training within the designated timeframe.
- Attention and focus to confirm prescription information and label accuracy.
- Customer service and team orientation, actively seeking ways to help people.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Mathematical reasoning for calculating prescription quantities.
- Problem‑resolution ability, choosing the best response to challenging interactions.
- Physical demands such as lifting, scanning, bending, and repetitive finger use.
- Additional tasks as directed by Supervisor or Manager.
- 1–3 years of previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
- Experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer‑service setting.
- Ability to work in the home store and across the market in other locations as needed.

Pay RangeThe typical pay range for this role is $16.00 – $24.00 per hour.
