- High school diploma or GED. Additional requirements include:
- Licenses: EMT, EMT‑P, CNA, SRNA, or CMA preferred or completion of first semester clinical rotation in an accredited Nursing Degree Program (ADN or BSN).
- Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS) required, ACLS preferred. - Telemetry/Dysrhythmia course.
- 1 year of experience preferred.
- Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
- Under the supervision of an RN, performs continual telemetry surveillance of multiple monitors.
- Identifies significant arrhythmias and/or signs of patient distress and intervenes appropriately. Identifies and corrects for artifacts.
- Reports abnormal assessment and telemetry findings or changes in patient physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff.
- Tests equipment for proper working order. Reports equipment problems to supervisor.
