MRI Technologist; Per Diem - MRI Services

Conduct procedures and tests using MRI equipment to acquire and analyze patient diagnostic data.

• Patient Identification – Verify patient identification, obtain patient history, assist patients and family members requiring extra attention, ensure patient safety and understanding.
• MRI Technology – Demonstrate knowledge of MRI and human anatomy, operate MRI scanners, inject contrast, manage PACS and printers, maintain ARRT/ARMRIT status, interpret protocols and troubleshoot equipment and protocols.
• Contrast – Administer oral and IV contrast following safe injection procedures, check lab values and determine contrast eligibility.
• Image Transfer – Maintain PACS knowledge, transmit images to QC, EMR and PACS, verify and segment images, cancel duplicate orders, ensure accurate charge information and patient identification.
• Other Duties – Perform tasks promptly, run schedule, volunteer for challenging tasks, produce quality images, review charts and reports, keep environment clean, document incidents, precept new employees and students.

• Education – Completion of an accredited program in Radiological Science or within 3 months of application.
• Licensure/Certification – Registered with ARRS, ARRMIT or eligible; provide diploma if eligible, advanced MR certification within one year of employment, maintain registry status and continuing education annually, current HCP BLS competency.
• Experience – Prior education, training and experience to perform assigned tasks.
• Knowledge/Skills/Abilities – Demonstrated MRI technology knowledge, patient interaction, protocol interpretation, equipment troubleshooting, PACS utilization, contrast administration, safety, communication, teamwork, documentation and teaching skills.
