Responsible for performance of all patient MRI imaging procedures and all patient safety protocols. Functions as the first line interface with customers in the successful accomplishment of their imaging needs.
Education and Formal Training:
Completion of an accredited MRI technology school required. Maintain a certificate and/or diploma from the accredited MRI program, and/or Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent. Certified/registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and in accordance with American College of Radiology (ACR) guidelines. A minimum of 3-5 years of experience is preferred. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support certification will be required at new hire.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Required:
Demonstrates a high level of mental and emotional tolerance and even temperament when dealing with ill people; uses tact, sensitivity, sound judgment, and a professional attitude when relating with patients, families, and co-workers at all times. Actively functions as a patient advocate. Must have thorough knowledge of all necessary patient assessment techniques, treatment techniques and the operation and maintenance of all unit specific equipment, including IV pumps, computer terminals, printers, and facsimile machines.
Knowledge of current hospital emergency policies and procedures including fire, safety, disaster, and infection control policies. Excellent communication and administrative skills are necessary.
