Location: Haywood Regional Medical Center – Clyde, NC Shift: 11:00 AM – 7:30 PM Position Type: Travel Assignment
OverviewHaywood Regional Medical Center is seeking an experienced Central Sterile Technician for an 11A–7:30P travel assignment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring all surgical instruments and equipment are properly decontaminated, sterilized, assembled, and distributed in accordance with facility standards and regulatory guidelines.
Responsibilities- Decontaminate, clean, inspect, and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment.
- Assemble instrument trays and surgical sets according to established protocols.
- Operate sterilization equipment, including autoclaves and low‑temperature sterilizers.
- Maintain accurate records of sterilization cycles, biological indicators, and equipment maintenance.
- Ensure timely delivery of sterile supplies to operating rooms and procedural areas.
- Monitor inventory levels and restock sterile processing supplies as needed.
- Follow all infection control, safety, and quality assurance procedures.
- Collaborate with surgical teams to support case readiness and instrument availability.
- Certification as a Central Sterile Processing Technician (CRCST or equivalent) preferred or required per facility standards.
- Previous sterile processing or central supply experience in a hospital setting.
- Knowledge of sterilization techniques, instrument identification, and infection control practices.
- Ability to work independently and manage workflow efficiently.
- Strong attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols.
