Job Summary: Performs routine and advanced respiratory and pulmonary care testing and all other forms of respiratory therapy as prescribed by a physician. Frequent contact with employees, patients, and public. Standard procedures are available, but some authority must be exercised by the individual to meet situations which demand independent action. Requires high degree of accuracy to prevent possible harm to patient.

Education- Required: Associate of Science in Respiratory Care
- Preferred:
Position Requirements / Licensure & Certification
- Required: Current, unrestricted licensure as a Respiratory Care Practitioner by the State of North Carolina, and holding the certification for RRT issued by the National Board for Respiratory Care
- BLS: completed prior to going to the unit/department and maintained going forward
- ACLS: required within 30 days
- NRP: required; must take first available class
- PALS: Certification

Requires high degree of accuracy to prevent possible harm to patient. Responsible for performing own job duties in the care of Neonatal, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric age patients.
Must possess a positive attitude, tact, poise, courtesy and willingness to cooperate with fellow employees and physicians.
