Overview
Position Summary The Certified Nursing Assistant performs specific responsibilities under the direction and supervision of a licensed nurse. Functions within the framework of the NA listing granted by the NC Board of Nursing. Practices within the philosophy and goals of patient care services. In addition, the Nursing Assistant may be utilized in the Observer Role responsible for monitoring one or more assigned patients on a designated unit for a specified time period.
Minimum RequirementsHigh School or GED is preferred - or higher
Preferred Requirements- 1+ year NAII experience in acute hospital
- 1+ year NAII experience in skilled care/nursing home
- 1+ year NAII experience in nursing home
Active NAI listing with NC Department of Health & Human Services is required.
Current American Heart Association Heart Saver or higher certification is required.
De-escalation training (Non-violent crisis intervention or other de-escalation program adopted by ECU Health). If not current at the time of hire must complete within 90 days of employment and maintain without lapse during employment. This is not required for Ambulatory clinical positions.
