About the Role
Novant Health Southwestern Spine Institute is searching for a Patient Services Coordinator to join our world‑class specialty center. The role ensures a smooth, compassionate patient experience in a fast‑paced clinical setting.
Location: 1625 Hospital Drive, Mount Pleasant, SC 29464
Status: Full Time
Schedule: Monday‑Friday, 8am‑4:30pm
Responsibilities- Accurately record and update patient demographics, insurance details, and medical histories.
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments, ensuring timely and efficient service.
- Post charges, process co‑pays, and manage patient collections with attention to detail.
- Cross‑train in various administrative support roles to enhance team efficiency.
- Provide compassionate and professional assistance to patients, families, and team members.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED, required.
- Experience: One year of clerical experience in a medical office setting, required.
- Other related experience may be considered in lieu of medical office experience.
- Required Skills:
- Knowledge of medical office software: updating patient demographics, posting charges, processing co‑pays, and scheduling appointments.
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work with changing priorities.
- Strong organizational, problem‑solving, and critical‑thinking skills.
- Effective interaction with individuals of all cultures and authority levels.
- Confidentiality and team functioning skills.
- Initiative and basic medical terminology proficiency.
- High level of working knowledge of EPIC systems.
- Detailed knowledge of multiple payors billing requirements and coding requirements for the practice specialty.

Skills:
Proficiency in the full range of computer software used in the practice.
