Lydech offers a full line of innovative engineered products to assist in noise and heat abatement within the automotive and industrial markets. The business manufactures acoustical damping and thermal insulating solutions comprised of fiber and metal based composite product constructions. These products are typically found in the interior (dash insulators), underbody (wheel well, fuel tank, exhaust) and under hood (engine compartment) of passenger vehicles, heavy duty trucks, recreational vehicles as well as in other industrial applications.

The segment employs approximately ~1400 employees with operations in the U.S., Germany, France, and China.

Job Summary:

Supports all aspects of accounting management, assists in the formulation of internal controls, manages journal entries, assists with budgets and forecasts, and ensures compliance. Report to the Financial Controller for North America to ensure regulation and accounting guideline compliance. Works with the FP&A, Accounting, Accounts Payable and Receivable team for North America.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Assist with internal and external audits, ensuring timely and accurate responses.
  • Maintain compliance with corporate policies and regulatory requirements.

Accounting Operations

  • Oversee general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, with the Financial Controller.
  • Ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Monitor and reconcile inventory accounts and standard costing.
  • Leads, trains, and mentors the employees assigned to the accounts payable and receivable groups.
  • Review and update customer prices in ERP as needed.

Cost Accounting & Manufacturing Support

  • Analyze production costs, variances, and margins to support operational decision-making.
  • Collaborate with plant management to optimize cost structures and improve profitability.
  • Maintain accurate BOM (Bill of Materials) and work-in-progress accounting.
  • Assist in the costing and review of new business opportunities.

Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Assist in preparing annual budgets and monthly forecasts.
  • Provide variance analysis and actionable insights to management.
  • Serves as a business partner to the plant leadership teams, providing data needed to meet financial objectives and make appropriate business decisions.
  • Interprets operating results as they affect the financial aspects of the business; make specific recommendations to plant leadership teams that will result in cost reductions and profit improvement.

Internal Controls & Process Improvement

  • Implement and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets.
  • Identify opportunities for process automation and efficiency improvements.

Required Experience, Education, Skills, and Abilities for Consideration as a Candidate:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
  • At least 5 years of experience in accounting and finance in a manufacturing environment.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a supervisory role.
  • Experience with ERP systems is required
  • Experience in SOX 404 Compliance required.
  • Strong verbal, written, analytical and interpersonal skills.
  • Thorough understanding of all accounting functional areas
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Preferred or Additional, Experience, Education,

Skills and Abilities:

  • Thorough knowledge of GAAP required. A working knowledge of US Federal income tax regulations, state taxation, and SEC reporting requirement desired.
  • Continuous improvement experience is a plus (in particular Lean Enterprise)
  • A CPA or CMA is preferred with 2-3 years of experience in public accounting and/or publicly held companies.
