Candidate Coordinator performs specialized work related to candidacy, petitions, and campaign finance. This role is accountable for the oversight of candidate filing as well as maintaining and auditing records for campaign finance reporting.
Responsibilities- Managing candidate filing and meeting with candidates to assist with opening a political committee.
- Auditing campaign finance reports and reporting violations to the State Board of Elections.
- Keeping the candidate and campaign finance pages on the website current.
- Managing the petition process including checking signatures against the voter registration database and certifying signatures on petition pages.
Associate degree in a related field with at least two years of experience in banking or finance; or an equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Special Requirements- Must obtain NC Notary Public within 6 months of employment.
- Must be certified or obtain certification as a North Carolina Elections Administrator from the State Board of Elections within three years of employment.
Tasks involve the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, but which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight (up to 10 pounds). Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or workstation.
