Event Manager / Planner, Event Staff/ Venue Crew
Responsible for assisting in the planning, coordinating, and executing seasonal events for the Town of Nags Head. Ensures that events run smoothly and efficiently, creating an exceptional experience.
- Assist in brainstorming and developing event logistics for Family Fun nights, including theme, décor, activities, and ads on social media.
- Assist with being on-site and overlap for other activities which might include but not limited to Fitness, yoga, movies, and Concerts.
- Manage vendor relations, oversee parking, and ensure safety for guests at the Thursday farmer’s market.
- Coordinate with the internal team to meet all event needs, vendors, and guests.
- Create event post reports and evaluations of the event.
- Works other duties, as assigned.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in oral and written communications to small and large groups, in-person and by the telephone.
- Considerable knowledge of social media including Facebook, Twitter, and web pages.
- Ability to communicate effectively in person and by telephone.
- Ability to gather and compile materials from a variety of sources and give basic information and instructions on programs based on inquires.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the general public, supervisors, municipal officials, and other employees.
- Skill in customer service problem-solving and conflict resolution.
- Ability to work with others in the management of large projects.
- Ability to work independently and understand project priorities.
Must be able to physically perform the basic life operational functions of climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions. Must be able to perform sedentary work, exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
Must possess the visual acuity to compile data and statistics, operate a computer, proof-read materials, and do extensive reading.
Working ConditionsEmployee is subject to inside and outside working conditions. Work is performed at both inside facilities and outside environments in both cold and hot weather conditions. Employee is subject to hazards including, but not limited to, walking on uneven grounds, high weeds, traffic, noise, fumes, odors or dusts.
Education and ExperienceGraduation from high school and experience with event management
