At our US MFG in Whitsett, NC, we drive excellence in manufacturing and logistics to support our Infrastructure Solutions Group (ISG).

We are seeking a highly experienced and technically skilled Server Manufacturing Engineer to lead and optimize server production operations. This role is critical to ensuring high‑quality output, process efficiency, and alignment with Lenovo's global manufacturing standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cross‑functional

    Collaboration:

    Work closely with design, engineering, quality, and supply chain teams to ensure smooth product introductions.
  • Manufacturing Process Development: Design, validate, and implement new manufacturing processes, tooling, and test fixtures.
  • Supplier and Manufacturing Management: Collaborate with contract manufacturers (CMs) and suppliers to develop and optimize custom parts and production processes.
  • Documentation and Compliance: Prepare documentation such as bills of materials (BOMs), control plans, and work instructions, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
  • Risk Management: Conduct design for manufacturability (DFM) reviews, evaluate risks, and implement mitigation strategies throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Process Improvement: Drive continuous improvement activities, analyze production performance metrics, and provide technical support to the manufacturing floor.
  • Engineering Knowledge: Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and equipment.
  • Analytical

    Skills:

    Ability to analyze production data, identify trends, and make data‑driven decisions.
  • Problem‑Solving: Ability to troubleshoot manufacturing issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
  • Communication

    Skills:

    Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non‑technical personnel.
  • Project Management: Ability to manage projects, meet deadlines, and work within budget constraints.
  • Software Proficiency: Familiarity with CAD/CAM software, Manufacturing Systems software, data analysis tools, and other relevant software.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in server manufacturing or technical production.
