As a Mechanical Analysis Engineer supporting Undersea Mission Systems, you'll be embedded within a cross‑functional design team, performing structural analysis and feeding results back to designers on new product development. The primary tool is ANSYS; some Solid Works and CREO modeling experience is also valuable.
This is a contract role (1–2 years) with opportunity for conversion, reflecting an ongoing analysis need on the team.
Required Skills- Strong ANSYS experience for standard structural analysis (core requirement)
- Proficiency with CAD tools (CREO, Solid Works) to manipulate models and create drawings
- Solid understanding of mechanical concepts, material specifications, and metallurgy
- Familiarity with manufacturing/fabrication methods and relevant technical, government, and industry standards
- Ability to work fully integrated into a design team and collaborate across functions
- Thermal modeling experience (secondary but valued)
- Shock Grade B analysis experience
- MATLAB proficiency, with ability to train others
- Electrostatic analysis capability (a tiebreaker, not required)
- Experience leading teams in design, testing, and prototype fabrication
Education and Experience
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering, Technology or Mathematics field. Also requires 2+ years of job‑related experience.
